A nice way to wrap and present a voucher!

Do you also sometimes have the problem that you want to give someone a voucher as a present but struggle to find a nice way to wrap it?
I mean, of course you can always use a nice card with an envelope, but sometimes I like to think of something a little bit different.
The way I wrapped vouchers for a game of football I’ve seen before somewhere online, but I didn’t have any instructions so I just made it up.

I think it is a really nice way to wrap a gift and if you would like to give it a go as well I took a few pictures and wrote a small tutorial in this blogpost.

First of all for one voucher-jar you will need:

  • a nice jam jar
  • your voucher
  • a short piece of thread
  • tape
  • nice thick paper
  • a nice pen
  • chocolate footballs

I created a small space for the voucher by cutting a thick piece of paper to the height of the jar, rolled it together, fixed it with a bit of tape and put it in the middle of the jar.
Around that I carefully started placing the footballs and stacked them up until the jar was filled. Don’t underestimate the amount of sweets you need – you will need more than you think to make the jar look really full.
For the next step I attached a short piece of thread to the voucher and fixed the other end with a piece of tape to the lid of the jam jar. That way you have a surprise effect when opening the lid, as when you lift it up the voucher will automatically rise from the jar :).
If your voucher is a plastic card you of course won’t need the extra space in the middle and can just fill the jar with the sweets and stick the hard plastic card in the middle.
And that is already it – now you can close the jar. Make sure that the sweets are quite tight in the jar, so they don’t manage to fall in the hole you created.
Finally you can make the outside of the jar looking a bit nicer by adding a ribbon or a piece of thread with a small card.

I hope you like my small DIY project. It is really easy and quick to make and I think it makes giving away a voucher a little more fun. Of course you can do the same with M&Ms, smarties or other sweets – how about animal-Haribo with a voucher for a trip to the zoo for example? Or a jar filled with beads that comes with a voucher for jewellery?
Maybe this could even be an option for a Christmas present?

Let me know if you have any other ideas or if you gave it a try :). I’m looking forward to it!

I know what you mean, I always happen to find a good idea a couple of weeks after I was really looking for it 🙂
