With one of my brothers staying with me for a while baking is even more fun. We both really enjoy being in the kitchen, listening to music and baking a nice treat.
Last Friday night we decided to make “chocolate corners” and used a recipe from an amazing German magazine called deli.
Because the cake tasted really nice I want to share the recipe with you today.
Chocolate corners (Schokoladen-Ecken)
For one baking tray you will need:
– 250g ground almonds
– 160g cocoa powder
– 100g flour
– 2 tsp gingerbread spice
– 500g soft butter
– 500g sugar
– 6 eggs
– 200g dark chocolate
- Mix the almonds, the cocoa powder, flour and gingerbread spice.
Whisk the butter, sugar and a pinch of salt with your mixer for at least 8 minutes and then add the eggs one after another, each after 30 seconds. Add the almond mixture and carefully combine everything.
- Put the dough on a well greased baking tray. Bake at 180 degrees (160 degrees air circulation) for around 20-25 minutes
- Slice the baked cake into triangles (‘corners’). Melt the chocolate and make stripes with it on the cake.
That’s it…such an easy bake! We had loads of fun making it and the portion is really big! We shared it with around 7 people.
Now have a nice weekend and if you’ve got the ingredients and a spare hour left bake this cake. I am sure you will love it!
