My new and favorite way to craft cards

Sending cards to friends is really special to me – there doesn’t even have to be a reason, it is just nice to receive a card from a friend every now and then and it always makes my day when I come home and find a card in my letter box. What a lovely feeling!IMG_4496

So far my introduction for todays blogpost…I couldn’t really think of a smarter way to build the bridge to my newest obsession: When it comes to cards at the moment, I am in love with Hama beads – I know, this might sound a little bit odd as those beads are mainly used for crafting with young children, but I just love to use them to make all different kinds of cards. I have to admit that I used to find those bead-things a bit tacky and childish, if you know what I mean. I am not a huge fan of hama-bead-coasters etc… The variety of forms and figures you can make with hama beads though is amazing and I love how easy and understated but really effective the cards are. You don’t need many ‘ingredients’ to make a really nice card.IMG_4493

For the two cards on the pictures here I simply used a plain card, a Hama motif and my beloved dymo-typewriter. With a bit of glue or double sided tape the beads stick to the card really well.IMG_4494

I clearly underestimated those pretty little gems of hama beads and I cannot wait to think about more motifs and make more of those cards.
